One day, there was a big fire in the forest. All the terrified animals, watched helplessly as the disaster unfolded. Only the small hummingbird was active, retrieving drops with his beak to throw on the fire. After a while, the toucan, annoyed by this pitiful demonstration, said to him: “Colibri! Are you crazy? You’re not going to put out the fire with those drops of water!”
And the hummingbird said,”I know, but I’m doing my part.”

The following days, the Atelier Hélio’g and Tumuult in Berlin created the Kronik project.
With current cartoonists and photographers, the workshop engraves their drawings and photos, prints them, distributes them free of charge during meetings and interventions, to discuss and explain, with ink on their hands. It creates a library of matrices available for schools, institutions and cultural centers around the world. It builds bridges with other workshops and art schools to support their educational projects….
In 2015, were published: 2 caricatures by Jean-Denys Philippe on freedom of expression and the relations between North and South but also 2 portraits, on Palestinian refugees by Matias Corral, Argentinian photographer.
In 2016, Helio\’g, in partnership with Presse Citron, awarded Marinela Nardi the Kronik award for the best humanist cartoon.
In 2017 5 photogravures with Santiago Albert testifying to Mayan people’s culture in Guatemala were published.
In 2018, Kronik will dedicate itself to refugees and armed conflict through photographs by Edouard Elias. In parallel, a deliberation will be conducted regarding the consequences of conflicts on future generations through photographs by Santiago Albert.
The workshop listens to all your ideas and proposals, they are vital for the project to last.
Kronik wants to go back to the roots of printmaking as a vector for spreading a political message, a printmaking which is committed, a street printmaking, a key player of its time.
